What someone said about how most dogs labeled as pit bulls aren't pit bulls. I don't see why people think pit bulls are some rare breed that hardly exist

  James Hassinger and really it's not a large number of breeds that are labeled as pit bulls. If you look at the 200+ breeds of dog there's less than 5 breeds that look like pit bulls.

BTW "pit bull" is indeed a term used to describe the fighting dogs descended from the original torturer dogs of the old UK, regardless of how many different names people want to call them now. And this pompous fool can play whatever word games she wants to, but it doesn't cover the rivers of blood shed by these maulers.

  Fataah Ewe' Most border collies are not registered dogs either, & have a variety of looks but if you ever saw them herd you would have great respect for genetically molding breeds over time. It's just too bad pits were just as zealously developed for an unthinkable entertainment.

It really doesn't matter what you want to call the dogs - if all the dogs that have the same distinct look are the ones that are doing all the mauling and killing, then let it be based on visual ID. These deluded pb advocates want to try to play all sorts of games to dance around the fact that the dog they worship is the #1 killer. You always hear them all saying "I have been bit by 10 chihuhuhas, 32 golden retrievers, 6 labs, 4 dacshunds, and 51 poodles"..... oh, really? Where are the papers? What makes you so sure you have the correct breed? And consider yourself lucky, the reason you are here to tell your story today is because you were never mauled even ONCE by a pit bull!

  Whilst there is a breed of dog that contains the words "pit bull" in the name. The term pit bull is also used to describe a "class" of dogs, just like the term "work horse". Work horse can mean any of several breeds of horse, just like pitbull covers numerous breeds of dog,,,
